Apples, Apples, EVERYWHERE! :)

Last week, we did a unit on APPLES.

Here are some of our activities:

We learned about John Chapman. He walked through the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania to plant apple seeds. Because of his love of planting apple seeds, he was nicknamed Johnny Appleseed. He walked barefooted, with a cooking pot on his head. He was also a kind and gentle man who loved the animals.

We got to taste 3 different types of apples and graphed our favorite. GREEN wins again!!

We learned the parts of an apple (stem, leaf, core, flesh, skin, and seeds).

We learned the steps in the apple's life cycle.

We learned that there are many things made from apples.

We also made number sentences using apples.

To end our unit....we had an APPLE DAY on Friday!! (To be continued)
